ADVENT DEVOTIONS: Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 29-Dec. 20, 5:30 pm in the sanctuary. Fellowship meal following. Reservations required for meal: 336-765-6590, x 3. Everyone is invited.
COMMUNITY ADVENT BIBLE STUDY: Beginning Thursday, Nov. 30-Dec. 21 in the church fellowship hall. Video study by Adam Hamilton called “The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem. Everyone is invited.
NATIVITY DISPLAYS: The month of December will feature a display of Nativities from around the world and/or hold special memories for church members. Room will be open during church activities. Visit often alone or with friends to see the depictions of the birth of the Christ Child.
BURKHEAD’S ANNUAL BEST CHRISTMAS EVER! Sunday, December 10 following worship. Join us for a potluck luncheon, a special program and children’s pageant and a visit from Santa. Everyone is invited to wear their beautiful (or ugly) Christmas sweaters!
CHRISTMAS CAROLING: This tradition continues Sunday, Dec. 10 following Burkhead’s Best Christmas Even. Carolers will spread Christmas cheer to homebound members. No special talent required except the desire to share Christmas cheer with others.
SALVATION ARMY CHRISTMAS ASSISTANCE DISTRIBUTION. Come and help us with this project to bring Christmas joy to those in need. We are signing up for a group shift on Friday, Dec. 15. (This project involves walking and lifting.)
ANGEL TREE: During this season of giving, be sure to visit our Angel Tree and pick the name of a child to purchase a Christmas gift for.
FORSYTH JAIL AND PRISON MINISTRY COOKIE PROJECT; When you are doing your Christmas baking, make a few dozen extra for this project. All Forsyth County prisoners will receive a bag of Christmas cookies delivered by Christmas carolers. Make them large (about 3 in. in diameter) cookies. Please sign up for how many you can make. Bring to the church by Thursday, Dec. 14.
CHOIR CANTATA: The Burkhead Choir, under the direction of Guy Kelpin and accompanied by Tom Turnbull will present their cantata on Sunday, Dec. 24 at 11 am. Everyone is encouraged to dress in something red.
CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE: This service will be held Sunday, Dec. 24 at 6 pm in the church sanctuary. Everyone is invited.
